Cuts, colour & perms — SE Division, Portland
Precision cuts, colour and perms for women, men and children on SE Division — from a stylist whose clients have followed her for the better part of two decades.
The salon
Heidi has worked the same chair on SE Division long enough that her clients measure the relationship in decades rather than visits. One wrote that they had searched “far and wide” for a stylist who was genuinely consistent — and stopped searching seventeen years ago.
The approach
This is an independent, single-chair salon, which means the person who greets you is the person who cuts your hair — every time, with no rotating roster and no handing off. Consultations are in English or Vietnamese, the appointment runs at your pace, and the pricing is straightforward.
A short guide
Three questions, and you will know what to book, how long to allow, and exactly how to describe it — in English or Vietnamese.

How to describe it
A guide, not a quote. Pricing depends on the work, so please ask when you call. Timings are typical for an appointment of this kind.
Vietnamese wording drafted for this preview Heidi to check — she is the native speaker, so it is hers to correct before this goes live.
Lookbook
Photographs go here photos needed
A lookbook is the single highest-value thing on a page like this. Six to twelve photographs of real work is all it takes.
In their words
“I have looked far and wide for someone who can cut my hair the way I want, who is consistent with their work for 17 years. I found one, and it’s Heidi! The reasonable pricing wasn’t required, but her pricing is a huge bonus. She is fluent in Vietnamese and proficient enough at English-speaking for what I need and small banters.”
“The service is fantastic and the end result is great. She is always very quick, it’s usually not difficult to get an appointment, and I always leave feeling good about how I look.”
“I just had my first men’s haircut with Heidi’s Hair Design. I just wanted to come here and say, the stylist did a great job. She was very friendly too. Thank you, Heidi’s Hair Design.”
Owner & stylist
Seventeen years behind the same chair on SE Division, with a client list that has followed her for most of them. Consultations in English or Vietnamese — whichever is easier for you.
Visiting
Calling ahead is recommended — with one stylist and one chair the diary fills up. That said, clients regularly write about ringing in the morning and being seen the same afternoon, so it is always worth asking.
Có. Heidi nói tiếng Việt. Cứ gọi điện và nói chuyện bằng tiếng Việt thoải mái. (Yes — Heidi speaks Vietnamese, so please just call and speak Vietnamese if that is easier for you.)
Pricing depends on the work — length, thickness and whether colour is involved all change how long an appointment takes — so Heidi does not publish a fixed list. Call and you will get a straight figure before you sit down. Clients consistently describe the pricing as fair and say they are never upsold.
Yes — women’s, men’s and children’s hair. Many families book together and have everyone seen in a single visit.
A cut is typically straightforward — Heidi has a reputation for working efficiently without rushing you. Colour and perms take considerably longer, so mention those when you book and the time will be set aside.
Yes. The main entrance is ADA-compliant and step-free, with accessible parking near the door and street parking along Division.
Bring a photo on your phone. It is the single most useful thing you can do — it removes any ambiguity, and Heidi would far rather work from a picture than a description.
A short cut holds its shape for roughly four to six weeks; longer styles will stretch to eight or ten. If you are covering grey, root retouches usually fall every four to six weeks. The planner above gives you a rough guide.
